Terrorism, Populism & Extremism – Curated

Democracy is under threat across the globe from radical right populists and we face a considerable threat of violence from extremist groups and terrorists. This collection provides both historical and contemporary context for the rise of populism and extremism. It is multi-disciplinary and features works drawing on history, political science, sociology, cultural studies and security studies among others. It features contributions from Routledge’s Extremism and Democracy series which has been at the forefront of research in this area for 15 years, as well as the Fascism & Far Right series which has complemented it with a more historical focus.
